Johan started his working career in the Communication department of Multichoice, the first digital Pay-Tv operator in South Africa and Africa. In this position, he provided effective employee and internal communication to regional offices in South Africa and developing African markets.
Together with the HR Training and Development teams, he worked on projects to provide feedback on employee service standards to align and provide proactive intervention and solutions. With this, a new MultiChoice Training Centre was opened to provide online training and development to employees locally and within operational regions. Johan launched a Network Mapping Initiative utilising Net Map as a tool to identify employee communication flow and networking, to connect teams and people, and to build synergy and effectiveness within departments and cross-functional teams within the company.
In 2002 Johan started his international career working in the United States of America. Here he gained a broad knowledge and solid leadership experience across HR disciplines, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, talent management, compensation, benefits, payroll, and training of staff. Johan demonstrated his ability to partner with business leaders, management, and developing junior managers as an HR business partner to support, resolve organizational effectiveness and engage employees to work effectively.
In 2015 Johan utilised his experience to work as a team member on new opening business projects and revamping projects with HR responsibilities to engage, train, coach, and engage employees to provide product excellence from pre-opening to full operation.
Johan has a passion to apply his skills by contributing to the progress and advancement of employees as this impacts and drive the products and service of companies. In 2020 he worked as a team member to launch the MSC Shosholoza Ocean Training Academy as part of a Government and MSC company's social investment project in Durban, South Africa.
He continues his passion for life-long learning and education by providing consulting, training solutions, career coaching, and people development opportunities and solutions.
