Knowledge acquisition occurs through the design and implementation of sound research projects and studies accomplishing multiple deliverables:
- Research Projects & Topics
- Research Facilitation
- Research Supervision
- Literature Reviews
- Research Design & Methodology
Exponential Knowing
VNI BluAgile™ Research and methodologies facilitate discovery and application of insights drawn from your data, within any given industry or context, thus arriving at deep understanding (metacognition) of your dataset, inquiry, research topic etc. Metacognition refers to higher order thinking which involves active control over the cognitive processes engaged in learning. The term comes from the root word meta, meaning "beyond".
Ackoff (1989), who did the initial groundwork for the accustomed class structure of Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom (DIKW), indicates that there are various permutations of knowledge creation; however, they are all meticulous and methodical. VNI presents this notion of creating knowledge in corresponding terms as the capability of having knowledge about knowledge and introduces intelligence as an additional thought in the DIKW structure between knowledge and wisdom, to produce an extended knowledge structure, i.e. DIKIW. Legg and Hutter (2007) describe intelligence as the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills, whereas wisdom is described the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement (Ackoff, 1989).Knowledge Creation
Knowing How to Know
Processes such as knowledge, attention, memory and working memory, judgment and evaluation, reasoning and "computation", problem solving and decision making, comprehension and production of language, etc. ... Cognitive processes use existing knowledge and generate new knowledge.
Cognition Acknowledged
Regulation of Cognition
Activities such as planning how to approach a given learning task, monitoring comprehension, and evaluating progress toward the completion of a task and remodeling learning behaviour accordingly are metacognitive in nature.
Knowledge of Cognition
Becoming "aware of one's awareness" and higher-order thinking skills. Reflection and self-questioning as crucial parts of the process. Task knowledge, base knowledge and individual knowledge. "Cognition about cognition".
Justified Belief of Being
Brain, Mind & Consciousness (Ontology)
The theory of the differences between the physical brain, the Mind and Consciousness. Brain Plasticity and the ability of the brain to change itself. The philosophical study of the nature of being, becoming, existence or reality, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations.
Knowing about Knowing (Epistemology)
The theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its methods, validity, and scope, and the distinction between justified belief and opinion. Application of the Beyonder Model to understand self-limiting beliefs and self-inflicted limitations.
