Description
Measuring the creative propensity of the organisation in the past was a tedious and cumbersome process often neglected, ignored or misapprehended. In many instance that is still the case.
Learning from successful companies who monitor the creative propensity of their organisations suggest a critical measure for managerial leaders and individuals alike to anticipate difficulties before they happen. Being able to anticipate difficulties before they happen allow participants to rectify inconsistencies and finding solutions to challenges immediately. The ability to rectify inconsistencies and finding solutions to challenges even before they occur requires from participants to maintain and advance high levels of energy and enthusiasm in the organisation. VNI Consultants has a way in which we are able to measure and advance high levels of energy and enthusiasm in organisations, which we call enthuvance.
Based on studies of the most successful Fortune 500 companies, ten critical factors essential for the fostering of a creative decision-making environment, emerged. The emerging critical factors for the fostering of a creative decision-making environment resulted in the creation of a framework organisations can use to establish the organisation’s positive or negative creative propensity.
The Organisational Wellness Instrument (OWI) is a tool organisations can use to establish the organisation’s internal positive or negative creative propensity. The OWI forms part of the Neethling Brain Instrument (NBI®) product suite, which provides up-to-date and easy to read measures of the current internal creativity state of an organisation, or parts of it. The OWI is easy to use, easy to administer, quick to complete and very responsive in reporting results. Unlike conventional organisational climate surveys, which are expensive, time-consuming and rarely current, the OWI produces comprehensive reports within minutes of employees completing the online questionnaire.
The results are available immediately that act as an internal barometer indicating the current position of the organisation in terms of the critical factors mentioned above. Based on the information retrieved from the questionnaires managerial leaders get visibility of the internal challenges faced by the organisation and develop action plans to advance the required way forward.
The research results regarding the effect of these factors are unambiguous; if any of the factors start moving below the critical point; they begin to affect parts of the organisation, or in severe cases, the entire organisation. We can measure the degree to which each of these factors can contribute – or take away – from the “WELLNESS” of your organisation.
